Telstar Middle/High School was honored to host multimedia artist Firefly The Hybrid for an electrifying performance in the Helen C. Berry Auditorium on Friday, November 3, 2023. Firefly performed for all our students and staff alongside artists Donna Decontie Brown and Sarah Decontie. Our TMS and THS Civil Rights Teams invited Firefly to perform as part of the annual Day of Welcome event.

The Day of Welcome is an event sponsored by the Maine Office of the Attorney General through the Civil Rights Team Project. On this day, Civil Rights teams across the State of Maine take time to celebrate and promote the idea that our school communities are for everyone - all races and skin colors, all national origins and ancestries, all religions, all disabilities, all genders (including gender identity and expression), and all sexual orientations. More than 300 welcoming events have been held by civil rights teams in Maine schools since the launch of the annual Day of Welcome campaign in 2019.
